Some stories break your heart before they begin to heal it. This is one of them.
It was a quiet and cold February morning of 2025 when our caretaker, lovingly known as Prem Bhaiya, noticed something unusual near the boundary of our Hostel (At that time, The Dogfather Hostel was under construction). A man stood with a gunny bag in hand. At first glance, it looked like he was simply carrying a trash.
But Prem Bhaiya felt something wasn’t right.
He approached the man, asked him what he was doing — and the man hesitated. With suspicion growing, Bhaiya opened the gunny bag himself. What he saw left him speechless — a barely breathing, trembling puppy, his tiny body limp, eyes closed, and completely still. The man muttered something about the pup being “dead” and that he “wanted to dispose of it.”
But fate had other plans.
Prem Bhaiya picked up that fragile life brought him to our shelter, and we immediately rushed him to doctor. The puppy was unconscious, dehydrated, and severely cold — but she was alive.
Days turned into weeks. From tube feeding to cuddling in warm blankets, every second was a fight — but at last she won. We named her Kimchi and Prem Bhaiya himself adopted her.
Today, she’s a happy, playful girl, sleeping comfortably, and showering everyone with kisses.
💛 Why We Share This
Because every life matters.
Because without a second chance, Kimchi would have been just another nameless loss.
But today, she’s our reminder — that compassion changes everything.
