A few days ago (somewhere in mid Mar-2026), a small black puppy was hit by a speeding car and left on the road, crying in pain, bleeding, and helpless near Sec 105 Market, Mohali. Many passed by. But one person stopped.
His name is Intehzaar, someone who works at Blinkit. We don’t know how, but God gave him a heart that refused to walk away. Despite his own limitations, he picked up that injured puppy and, using his own money, got his leg plastered — just so he could get a chance to live.
Later, he reached out to Anurag Dhillon, the founder of The Dogfather – A Pet Hostel, who has been caring for hundreds of such voiceless souls. He was then brought to our shelter. But the journey wasn’t easy.
After a few days, Anurag noticed his leg wasn’t healing properly. There were fears of a fracture. He immediately took him to another vet, got the plaster redone, and tried everything possible. One doctor even suggested that he might need surgeries — one minor and one major. But something didn’t feel right. Not convinced, Anurag chose not to give up. He consulted yet another vet. After proper examination and X-rays, the doctor said something that brought hope.
He is just a young puppy. There is no major fracture. With care, rest, and treatment… he will heal. And that’s exactly what happened. With love, patience, and proper care, he slowly started recovering.
Day by day, he gained strength…and today, he runs, plays, and spreads happiness across our shelter. We named him “Kalu”.
Today, Kalu is not just healed — he is one of the happiest puppies we have.
This is what love can do.
One kind stranger… one decision to care… and a life was saved.
At The Dogfather – A Pet Hostel, stories like Kalu remind us every day — these souls don’t need much… just someone who chooses not to walk away.
